Change Agent
Just a thought. I wonder how many days (hours?) before someone introduces legislation to put Reagan's face on the dime or some other coinage. Maybe they'll come up with a new silver dollar with special grooves that keep it from stopping if you roll it away from you. No wait, that one's waiting for Dubya.

What monetary device is most like deregulation or the S&L scandal or the deficit? Something like that seems to be more appropriate to have his face on... after all... lets not forget those parts of his legacy...
Why is it when someone dies that people only seem to want to remember the good things about them and forget about the bad stuff? Reagan did all kinds of stuff to set America back from a progressive and compasionate standpoint. But you will never hear any of that because that would be being negative...
I guess people are so concerned with their own mortality that speaking ill of the dead scares them... luckily I dont have that affliction :-)
And while I am at it I love that Nancy became such a strong supporter of stem cell research to help save her husband who was against it. Would that be ironic?

You're totally right (on several counts). As far as not speaking ill of the dead - we seem to have need a cooling off period for stuff like this. Perhaps it has something to do with our attention span, but it's only a matter of time before minds snap back into place. With something like 9/11, the moratorium took a long, long time before we could start making sense again. And in many ways, we still can't thanks to the war. But with Reagan, I'll give it a few weeks. We should be able to criticize him again sometime around, oh, June 24 or 25.
